    Have you tried:

    - deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    - switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems?

If you switch to another theme, the new theme will show. You will not lose any content or any settings in your old theme.

Your old theme may use a custom query of some kind that needs removing. You could drop a copy of your theme's index.php file into the WordPress pastebin and post the pastebin url here. Perhaps someone will be able to spot the problem and suggest a solution.

I can't see any obvious problems within that file but you might want to try removing <?php include(TEMPLATEPATH."/breadcrumb.php");?> and see if that helps..
