    Hello!

I created a basic custom theme for my mom. I have run into a very weird problem.... the
tags are not working on the pages we created. I have tried several ways to create spaces between paragraphs, and I always open and close paragraphs with <p> tags. Her website looks like this:

    Hello!
    New paragraph here
    New paragraph here
    New paragraph here

When it should look like this:
    Hello!

    New Paragraph here

    New Paragraph here

    etc.

I activated the basic theme they give you when you download wordpress and the paragraphs are all displayed correctly, so I think there is something wrong with my theme. Should I be doing something special with the style sheet? Thanks for all your help!

There are no tags for pages. Tags only exist in posts. Posts are sorts of pages, but the belong to categories and are ordered chronologically while page exist outside of this chronology.

So in a post you would add a tag by making use of the box called "tags" in the right column when editing the post.

However, the search function of wordpress searches within the contents of pages and posts and you do not need to add tags for this to work.
