I am currently setting up a WordPress install for a client who needs some rather exacting requirements regarding users' ability to edit pages.
Essentially, there will be two chief editors who will control and approve all site content. I have set the group up to allow for this using Role Scoper, which isnt an issue. They have essentially the same control as a WP Editor does.
Under the chief editors are a selection of users, each of whom are repsonsible for one or two pages on the site. I am having trouble getting this to function in line with my clients requirements.
I have a test user setup, and through Role Scoper I can get this user to edit just one page, which is fine to a certain extent. However my client would like to approve any changes before the page is published after an edit. This is where I am stuck, and have been for some time now. Giving the user editing privilages on the page means they can publish content directly, yet setting the user as a contributor to the page seems to allow no editing whatsoever.
I feel I have tried every possible combination there is, I just can achieve the desired result of editing a single page without directly publishing the changes.
I hope this problem makes sense, I've been staring at WordPress for so long now it barely makes any sense to me anymore!
Thanks for any help you may have.
