Help needed to remove date from Google meta description

    Hi all,

    I see that for every page of 10 Google search results, there is only 1 which has a date at the start of the description, including mine.

    I am using the XML sitemap plugin and there is an option in the admin section, under ‘sitemap content’ to ‘include the last modification time’. If I uncheck this box, will it remove the date from my website description? If not how do I remove it? I am sure it will not affect my Google ranking to much as 9/10 listings do not have a date in the description.
