    Hi,

    I have 2 problems i need help with:

    I'm trying to upload an image to insert into the footer of my webpage but i have no idea how to do this in the footer.php section of editor (i only have very basic HTML experience). I know that i need the image to be stored in /images/footer/... but i don't know where that is on the site or how to upload the image to there.

    Once the .PNG image is uploaded i need to insert it to act as a hyperlink on the footer.

    Can anyone offer any suggestions on how to do this?

    I'm using Twenty Eleven Theme if that helps.

    start by creating a child theme of Twenty Eleven; http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes

    i need the image to be stored in /images/footer/

    there is no technical need for that, however if you insist, you could use ftp to create this new sub folder of the images folder of the (child) theme and store your image there;
    http://codex.wordpress.org/FTP_Clients

    or you can upload your image to the media uploads folder:
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Media_Add_New_Screen
    note the image url there, and use it in a linked image html tag in the footer.php;
    http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_links.asp
    http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_img.asp

    or consider to use a text widget in one of the footer widget areas.

    details depend on the exact location - please post a link to your live site once you have the child theme activated.
