Help! My blog doesn’t display properly in IE or Firefox.

    My blog displays properly in Opera, but it is messed up in IE and Firefox.

    In IE, the sidebar on the right that has all of the links and search function is gone and the blog ends abruptly, cutting off some older posts.

    In Firefox, the grey background for the main body is gone, the link/search sidebar on the right is gone, and certain images/text are out of place.

    I’m new at this, so I would appreciate any help you could give me.

    If you have Opera on your system, you should be able to see it the way it’s supposed to look.

    You cannot put a 678 pixel wide image inside a box that is only 553 pixels wide.

    It simply does not work.

    You need to decrease the width of your images.

    I searched my stylesheet and saw no mention of 678 or 533 pixels. Also, if what you’re saying about the picture size is correct, then why does my blog look right in Opera?

    Can anyone help out with some detailed information about fixing my issues with IE and Firefox.

    Hi, whoami is right although I’m not sure where he got the 553 number from. If you look at your stylesheet, the narrowcolumn has a width of 505 pixels whereas the images you stuffed into the column is 678 pixels wide. Try reducing the image widths and see if that helps. I’d say bump them down to 450 just to be on the safe side. You have three images that are that width.

    You also seem to have a random </p> at the end of the ‘Christmas Lights Gone Wild’ post.

    Thanks for the help. The main culprit was the YouTube Christmas lights video. I also reduced the width of my images and all looks good now.
