• When we put in a hyperlink – the post won’t publish and it causes lots of problems with responsiveness. Eventually, it becomes a “database error” and the database needs to be restarted after trying to post hyperlinks.

We are a wordpress.org blog hosted on Media Temple – seems like it may be a problem with folder permissions or database settings.

Blog is http://blog.nottinghilldesign.com (though we have taken all links out)

Any help would be very much appreciated

  • How exactly are you adding this link? If there was a database problem, you wouldn’t be able to save or publish your posts/

    Thanks, Esmi.

I have been using the “visual” tab (not HTML) to add new posts. Once I’ve written my post, I select the text I want to add a link to, click on the link (chain) icon and then add the link.

It all looks ok but that’s when the problems start….

    Any ideas?

    Thanks
    Steven

Are you running any plugins? If so, can you try deactivating them and see if that solves the problem? There’s nothing wrong in what you’re doing and it’s obvious that posts are being saved, so there’s no obvious database issue. But perhaps something else is causing a problem within the Visual editor.

Thanks, Esmi. We have added a few. I’ll try that and see if that solves it.
