    Hi all

I don’t think I’m going crazy, but I was working on a page in the catch box theme and upon previewing it, ALL pages have gone! They are not even in the bin. What happened, I didn’t click anything. I don’t think I’ve been hacked either, well not as yet. Does anyone know what this may be? It happened from one to the other second!

I worked on a subdomain child theme in a MU setup.

    Thanks a lot in advance!

  • Have you checked your database?

    Hi esmi

Many thanks for your answer. How do I find out? I have just logged into Cpanel and went into the MySQL panel and it let me do so. My other site (the main one) does not seem to be affected. Well, how would I know if someone is trying to hack it?

    Thanks again!

No one has suggested that you’ve been hacked yet. You need to check the database to see if the posts are still present in the relevant wp_posts table.

Ok, well I checked wp_posts (I suppose this is the table that also hosts pages, not just articles?) and it doesn’t sound too good:

    MySQL said: Documentation
#145 – Table ‘./site_databasename/datbase_posts’ is marked as crashed and should be repaired

I am not an database whiz at all, so am not 100% what happened. How do you ‘repair’ parts of the database. I do have a service in Cpanel, that backups and I guess restores sites….

Use Phpmyadmin (ask your hosts about access, if necessary) to see if you can repair that table.

I am actually in ‘phpMyAdmin’. That is where the table entry in the post above does show up as crashed (in bright red). But as mentioned before, I don’t know anything about databases, so off my head I would not know how to fix it or where to get the fix from. Do I have to import a backed up version of the database?

I am also trying to get in touch with the host guys, but they are currently offline :-/

    Select the datbase_post table.
    Select “Operations”
Under “Table maintenance”, select “Repair table”.

Aeehm, ok I am in there, but the only option Table Maintenance is giving me is “Flush the table (FLUSH)”… 🙁 Doesn’t sound like a repair though…

What version of Phpmyadmin are you using? Have you tried asking your hosts for assistance?

Hi esmi, thanks again for your answer and help on the issue.

The problem is resolved. It was as you suggested, “Repair DB”. But I couldn’t find it :-/ Well, that fixed it, which is great.

Thanks again, I owe you one.

No problem. Glad I could help 🙂
