   Hi - There is quite a lot of info on this website that I am getting a bit bogged down and wonder if anyone could give me some pointers please?

   I am in a rock band and we currently have a website that our bass player made on a mac and that is hosted on netlink.net.uk.

   The web address is http://www.empressrockband.co.uk - I have completed a woorank report on line and we came out with a score of 26 (not great!) ther are lots of things where we are not compliant in terms of meta tagging etc which in turn from the little I know wont be giving us great SEO.

   I operate heavily on social media and none of this is even linking in!

   I spoke to a colleague about this who recommended a word press site. He said they already come optimised??? is this because they are built on a platform??

   So we have a domain - a hosting place. I want a website now that I can access and keep up to date. I'm just not sure on how to bring all three together....

   Any advice on any of the above and the next steps I should take would be much appreciated!!!!

   Learning WP has a bit of a learning curve to it, that said anyone who puts in the time can get a decent site.
   Your current website doesn't have that much content so it would not be difficult to copy that content into a WP site.

   First I would decide how much time you have to actually learn WP.. or is it in your best interest to hire someone to do this for you.. get the site set up and then teach you what you need to know to post updates and other content.

   If you are a diy'er.. start by looking for a WordPress theme that you like for your band, (make sure it is compatible with the latest WP version 3.3). (You may not find a theme that does everthing you want or does too much) Customizing themes is even more of a learning process.

   Then Upload WP and start :
