Help! I need a .htaccess redirect (2 posts)

    I changed my permalinks from:

    /%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%/

    to

    /%postname%/

I need a htaccess redirect to get me from my old permalinks to the new ones.

I'm looking for any help that can be provided. I've already tried a number of redirect plugins but none of them map from the earlier post permalink to the new one. Most of them go from the old one to my root directory (www.mydomain.com).

    Please help! :-)

    Update...

I put this in my .htaccess:

    RedirectMatch 301 /([0-9]+)/([0-9]+)/(.*)$ http://www.punditguy.com/$3

And it gets me to http://www.punditguy.com/%postname%

    BUT...

it adds .html to the end of my post names. My posts names do not have .html at the end.

    They end with /%postname%/

    Any ideas?
