hammerzI saw what I thoguht was an "extra" SQL data base on my server at Site 5 and deleted it. (Don't ask!) Fortunately, I had just backed up the SQL DB to my desktop computer. so, I thought that all I had to do was recreate the DB, reset the passwords to the previous ones and import the backed up files and I would be good to go. NOT SO!
When I try to load my WP blog in my browser, I recevie the following message:
Can’t select database
We were able to connect to the database server (which means your username and password is okay) but not able to select the johnston_wrdp1 database.
Are you sure it exists?
On some systems the name of your database is prefixed with your username, so it would be like username_wordpress. Could that be the problem?
If you don't know how to setup a database you should contact your host. If all else fails you may find help at the WordPress Support Forums.
Eveidently a connection between the SQL DB and my WP folder at http://johnstonz.net/chuckzblog2 is broken...but I don't know how to fix it.
Any suggestions or direction that I should follow. should I completely rebuild the WP setup form the ground up and re-import my DB file?
