• Hey all!

I’ve been working on this probelm for TWO days and I’m so frustrated! I’m trying to write a post in a category I created from the widget list. And I cant seem to find out where I can do this. Here’s what I did .

I created a Widget category, so I could, from time to time, enter movie reviews…you know..POST movie reviews. Well, after I did that, I couldnt seem to find any “edit” mode for my MOVIE REVIEW category.

Here’s what I’ve done so far: When I go to MANAGE, CATEGORIES, and I click on my category to POST…it just gives me boxes as to what I want to NAME my category…and what I want for a DESCRIPTION for my category.

When I got to MANAGE, POSTS, my category doesnt show up. The only things that are shown..are posts that are ALREADY posted.

SO, how do I get into my Movie Review category (which was a widget), to post a movie review???

And another question…how come all my categories that dont have posts yet…say DAILY BLOGS below them? Will that disappear once I get my first post in there?

I would SO appreciate some help..and I”m not a big “techie”, so I dont know how to “change code” unless its HTML.

    Thank you!

  • Let’s see if I understand what you’re trying to do:

You’ve got a widget that will display posts from a particular category, and you want to know how to create posts in that category?

If that’s it, all you have to do is create a post in the normal way and select the category you want to use from the list.

If that’s not it, please post back with more details such as which widget you’re using for this.

    Thank you for answering LesBessant!

I dont think I’m explaining this right..sorry 🙂 Let me put it a different way, cuz I think I’m getting lost in my own question..lol!

Here’s what I want to do: In the sidebar, I’m trying to create a category called Movie Reviews. Under that category, I’d like to post movie reviews. So, I want it to look this way..the title Movie Review..then under it movie titles with links to my reviews.

What I did was add a CATEGORY widget, then I renamed it MOVIE REVIEWS. I THOUGHT what I could do next..was just bring up the category MOVIE REVIEWS and write a post that would then show up in my sidebar, by its movie name, under the title MOVIE REVIEWS. b

So, if someone goes to my page I want them to see the title, MOVIE REVIEWS, then under it, I want them to see the titles of movies I’ve reviewed, like Wall-E, then under that…Hancock..then under that the Hulk, etc. I want my visitors to be able to click on any of those titles and see my review.

But I’m getting stuck in the EARLY stages. I created the category MOVIE REVIEWS, but then I had no idea how to post a movie review under that cateory..and also how to get the movie name to show up under the MOVIE REVIEWS title, in my sidebar. I’m so lost!

    Does that make sense??

    Thanks for your help! 🙂

Also, after I create a CATEGORY widget, it always shows up on my site, with that DAILY BLOGS link under it. Why is it there and can I get rid of it somehow??

    Thanks!
