• The description of the Path theme contains this tantalizing tidbit:

There are 5 widget areas, 3 menu locations and 9 page templates (most popular articles by comments or views in different time span, archives, authors, tag cloud and slider) in the theme. And guess what, sticky posts are in a cool FlexSlider.

I got the widgets and the menus, but I’m not clear about how I find or use the page templates. Would you explain a bit?

Also, please help me get started with the sticky posts in the cool FlexSlider. I can’t imagine what that’s like, but I sure want to find out!

  • When you edit Page, there is Page Attribute metabox on the right. There you can choose Page Template.

When you edit Post, there is Publish metabox on the right. Click Visibility >> Edit and check Stick this post to the front page.

Thank you, I see those are listed as you say. However, I’m not clear how you would use them.

For example, I created an “Authors” page with the Author template. I listed three authors in the text area. The page as displayed doesn’t look any different from a page done with the Default template. Am I doing something wrong… or missing the whole point?

The effect of this is very obvious… and very nice. I see that multiple sticky posts produce a series for the slider.

I think I figured out that it’s the “featured image” that shows up in the picture space of the slider. Where are the dimensions of the image set? A quick measurement was something like 613×278, but I would like to be able to tweak that.

Where is the time delay set for switching the slider?

Slider image size is prefer to be 660px x 300px.

As you might have noticed I “make decisions, not options” in my themes. That’s way there is no option to set delay time in the slider. Of course it can be changed if necessary.

What it comes to Page templates, they work out of the box.

Thanks again, Sami! I don’t understand everything, but you’ve given me plenty to think about.
