    HI all,

Finding my way around. Not sure I am posting in the correct place, please advise if not.

I am working, AKA flying blind, on a page http://www.4smartmove.com/ and have run into two problems. 1. how can I work on a not-live version of my newly acquired site? 2. The home page in IE is not functioning properly. It looks like it is in a column. however when it is in Chrome or Firefox the page looks as it should.

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Joe.

    1) You can make a backup somewhere, maybe locally to work on? You have to run a server on your home computer but with stuff like WAMP that should be easy.

    2) I can't test this, but check your stylesheets for anything that IE doesn't like. This is probably a design issue.

    See http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress#Installing_WordPress_on_your_own_Computer

Try validating your site for coding errors -- a common cause of browser inconsistencies:

Also make sure WP, your theme and any plug-ins are up to date and don't have compatibility problems.
