Help fixing tags on homepage, whole site in italics!

I’ve just posted a new post, and the “teaser” part of the post that appears on the homepage is all in italics.

Now the whole homepage is in italics.

I’ve Googled the crap out of this issue and it appears the problem is, if I look at the page source of my home page, the tags on the ‘teaser’ or ‘read more’ part of the latest post are not closed.

So, I have 2 questions:

-Am I right?
-How do I close them? (You might have to dumb down your response for me because I do not know the first thing about coding 😀 ).
