If you go to your settings > reading, you should be able to set your homepage back to a static page – (select your home page from the dropdown)
but if you had made changes to the theme and now updated it, unless you made a backup, there’s not much else you can do.
You could ask your hosting provider to roll back your site if they can. Some will do this for you, but not all of them.
Thanks, but that didn’t help. I didn’t make any changes to the theme – I simply installed the updated version of the Delicate theme that was already in use. Updating the version should not have had such an effect.
I agree that updating to a new version of the delicate theme should not have had such an effect. Did anyone else worked on the theme before this update? It seems strange that changes to fonts and appearance would have changed. This only happens if changes were made to the theme.
This also happened to my site. The update appears to have undone any changes that I made to the theme, including my header image and logo. I distinctly remember editing the theme to remove the dashed lines between the widgets in the right column and they are back now. What a mess, my site is completely ruined and I’ve lost all the work that I’ve put hours and hours into. Help please!

Just happened to me too!!!!! Have lost my animated header and logo. Eeek! And have limited wp skills so no idea how to get them back. How can this happen?

I was very fortunate and found a solution with my site host – GoDaddy. We were able to successfully restore the site to 2 days before the Delicate update was installed. You should check with your web host and see if they can perform the same service. I have learned that, as we have a custom theme, do NOT ever update install those updates, as you will lose all of your custom formatting. Best of luck to you all!

That’s not a good solution — as sooner or later you will have to update your theme either to keep compatible with WP or to deal with security issues. The solution is to use a child theme — it allows you to make changes and update your theme without losing them.

Yeah, hope they can help. It’s certainly very upsetting to lose a lot of work and have to deal with the aftermath. Good luck to everyone here with that.
