I work for a music organization where we have approx. 80 members in the chorus. I need a way to establish individual, passworded accounts for each of the members so that they can access customized pages which will allow them to view things such as their membership status, music checked out, etc. It would also give them access to things like newsletters etc. that I don't want to be seen by the public. How do I go about setting up accounts like this that I can manage from a main page, but the individual members will only be able to view their individual pages. How would I set it up to be user name and password protected?

My guess would be: finding a software that does what you want. WP doesn't.
Seemingly, you need a membership management script, not a blogging tool. -

I have 3 wordpress membership sites, all managed by wp-member. It takes care of the access levels and membership subscriptions.
