Help, customize form elements for the "dark twenty eleven" theme? (2 posts)

Okay, so I just began working with WP and it is fantastic software. I only have basic knowledge of CSS and XHTML so I was hoping to get some assistance. My site is damage.net63.net.

I am using the twenty eleven theme and have set it to the "dark" child theme. Everything looks great but I cannot figure out how to customize the properties of particular form elements. The main search input(top of the page), BBPress login on the index page and BBPress form elements show up in white and it doesn't match.

I believe the main files holding the data for form elements is style.css in the twenty eleven theme folder and dark.css in the color folder but my attempts to modify colors gave me limited results. I also tried adding css data into the bbpress.css in the forum files with odd results. I think it is supposed to be calling data from twenty eleven anyway.

My aim is to have the background color of the elements #000, 1px border of an undecided color, and the font color white or something darker. Or just so it looks close to the post/comment-reply forms that are appropriately colored.

Any help is much appreciated so I may have a uniform look for my page. Thank you.

Do not edit the Twenty Eleven theme. It is the default WordPress theme and having access to an unedited version of the theme is vital when dealing with a range of site issues. Create a child theme for your changes.
