Help Crawl Errors Won't Redirect

I have crawl errors that I submitted for removal. They weren’t removed, so I tried a 301 redirect. Immediately after the redirect they redirect, when I check a few minuted later to go back to 404s. Can someone tell me the remedy for this problem?
