   Hi guys,

   I am editing my footer.php using notepad, and there were some chinese characters in it. Once i have uploaded using FTP, the website did not display the chinese characters. Instead, some funny symbols and question marks popped out instead of the usual chinese characters.

   I 'pull' the footer.php file back to the desktop using my FTP software, and the chinese characters are still there. Why is it that the Chinese characters turned into symbols after uploading? I have typed posts in Chinese characters via wordpress and no problem in displaying.

   My charset is utf8.

   Anyone any advice? Thanks!
