    Hi All,

I would like to ask some help regarding my categories and tags...
It was suddenly disappeared and I couldn't get it fix until now..

Have been browsing for this support forum, but couldn't find any clue..

So, probably, I could get more detailed answers when I re-posted this issue...

    Anyway.. The problem is..

Out of nowhere, the categories suddenly missing..
It did showed up on the dashboard (only the total numbers of it.. 29 categories), and numbers of tags. When I click on the categories page, it shows nothing but the paging..

I believe they are still on the database because when i try to re-input the category, it displays an error message telling me that the category is already exist.

When I check to the wp_terms table, it still contains those (missing) categories and tags...

I've checked all of my post, and all of them are set to uncategorized. Funny thing is, that uncategorized is also not displayed in the categories page.

What happen? Could you give me a clue?

I didn't do upgrades or anything.. The hosting service status is also fine.. No overload on /temp/ folder as described on older posts..
I even asked the hosting administrator to restart MySQL, clear the /temp/ folder as explained in older posts.

    ..Doesn't change a thing..

Oh, one more thing, i was thinking that I should upgrade my wordpress version to fix this. After i perform an upgrade to 2.9.2 the problem is still exist.

    Please.. please.. please... help me...

I also face this problem. Dashboard shows 38 categories, but nothing appears on website or while posting new posts.

I see all the categories in DB.

disabled all plugins, reset it to wordpress default theme.. no luck :(

    I have the same problem.

    CASE:
    - Categories are in the DB.
    - Dashboard shows correct number of categories.
    - No child categories are shown on website.
    - No child and some top categories are shown in "Categories" dashboard, just paging for a correct number of categories that are in DB...

One more clue: categories are listed on the edit and create post / page admin pages.

I'm also having this issue, same symptoms as ronimarin. Have reuploaded wp files, turned off all plugins and switched to default theme, all to no avail.

Same here after upgrading to 3.0.
    Now back to 2.9.2.

Could that be a sqlite database problem?
