I need some help. I just switched from a blank slate child theme to a twenty eleven child theme and now I can’t see my blog at all. Just a blank white or blue screen. This was fine on my tester blog. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and spent a good part of the day trying to figure this out, to no avail. Please help!
The blog I need to see is: http://www.thelainelist.com
The blog everything is fine on is: http://www.elainegriffindesigns.com/tester
    Thank you!

Well, here’s an update. I uninstalled and reinstalled all plugins, which helped. I could see my site. But while my posts and pages were in my dashboard, they were not posted on the site.
Then I was having some issues with WP going to a white screen in dashboard when I made any changes. So I restarted my computer and now I’m getting the white page on my blog and on my dashboard. I can’t even log in.
    What is going on??!!

    Try:
    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

Thank you esmi, I will try those things.

Okay, I’ve done the first two and I have an html page to log in, so that’s good. I will go ahead and do the last.
Re: plugin’s, how do you figure out which plugin is causing the issue? When I re-uploaded and activated, I went back to the site and refreshed to see if I could spot which was the trouble plugin.
    Thanks again

You need to re-activate the plugins one by one – checking the site after each re-activation – until you find the problematic plugin(s).

I’m sorry, I wasn’t very clear. What I meant to say was after each activation, I did go back and refresh. And all was well, and then it wasn’t.

Was that after the first plugin re-activation?

Yes it was. I’m just getting back into the dashboard now. I should do it again?

Reset the plugin’s folder again but this time, do not activate the first plugin. That may the problem one.

I did that, and I can see the site but no posts, no graphics, no css.

I went through and deactivated the plugins I didn’t need for the design. I think it might have been the “subscribe to comments reloaded” plugin, because when I deleted that, I got the same white screen. Maybe I can go activate my theme now?

I can see formatted pages – eg http://www.thelainelist.com/about-laine/

Okay, I reactivated my theme, and I can see that page now. I wasn’t able to before. That’s good. Any idea about my posts and why they aren’t showing?

Have you tried switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

When I did that, I got the blank white screen in my dashboard again.
It did change, though, and it is the same issue with the twenty eleven theme. No posts, just a big comment area.
