I messed up yesterday - big time bad.
WordPress had been installed and working well for me for quite awhile. For some reason - explained only by my inability to leave well enough alone, coupled with the inability to remember mistakes I have made in the past, coupled with the ability to consitently cause trouble for myself and then compound it... I changed the general settings for the site URL and WordPress URL from caicw.org to caicw.org/index-html. I thought it would be more accurate... or something... (caicw.org is an html page, ie caicw.org/index.html) (note the difference)
Then I spent the next four hours or so exploring the cpanel files - trying to correct the error at its source. I couldn't find what I was looking for. I did move index.php up a folder. I did learn a little bit about the complexity of files. But I didn't correct the problem.
Not being able to correct it - I went ahead and deleted wordpress with the intention of reinstalling.
But it won't reinstall. This is the error message I am getting -
Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Access denied for user 'lisamorr'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in /tmp/cpanel_phpengine.1301553860.6393Y4cNj_I8hb on line 1717
Access denied for user 'lisamorr'@'localhost' (using password: YES)
I spent another hour or so trying to trouble shoot this. I tried different logins, etc. Tried to find where on 'tmp' the hold up might be. tried to see if I had flipped some dumb switch somewhere. I have no idea what I did or what am looking for.
PLEASE HELP. I promise I will try to leave well-enough alone from here on out...
