Hi crew!
I need some help on chosing photoblog platform, plugins, what to think about and so on.
I've been using WP for a number of blogs and client sites for the last year and a half and I'd like to use it for this project too if possible.
The mission:
To design and build a photoblog that is simple, elegant but house all the common features plus maybe some additional eye candy :) Preferrably based on flick'r photos (ie display my flickr photos as my photoblog). Ultimately I'd like to end up with something like this.
Here's what I was thinking. I use WP as my photoblog platform and the use some plugin to bring in photos from my flickr account and disply them seamlessly along with flickr tag clouds etc.
What I need your advice on:
- Is WP a good platform for photoblogs or should I go with something else? I've heard a lot of people talk about Pixelpost
- What Flickr plugin is recommended in this case? I'd like access to not only the photos but to thumbnails, tags, tag clouds and maybe even comments if possible. Anyone got experience with creating a whole photoblog through WP and Flickr?
- If I use Flickr, how would that work with WP posts? I mean, how would I go about posting the images? Just drop a bit of php code in the post to feth the right flickr image?
What do you think of this idea? If you have a suggestion or experience with setting up a photblog differently I'd love to hear it. Any advice is appreciated.
Many thanks people!
