I am wondering if I can reinstall WordPress and use the existing DB...here's my dilemma...due to some impatience on my part, my site is currently not functioning and when I try to get to any page nothing can be found...my guess is I have screwed up the scripts and figure I should blow out the existing install and start anew, but don't want to lose the posts in the DB...is that possible or is there another way to fix this mess?

If you re-install it to the same database AND with the same table prefix (default is wp_) then you will definitely lose your posts.

You can install it in a new DB or with a different prefix, but then you'll have to import later your posts from the earlier install.

Maybe the whole thing could be fixed by someone with more experience - I don't know.

Based on the info you provided that's the most I can say.

I have had to reinstall WordPress on my shared hosting service. I created a new DB for the new install and am now wondering if I can import my old posts to the new db?
