    Hello to all

After I configured a WP 2.7.1 installation and all was successfully on the same hosting platform, I planned a Mu-version installation.

After configuring proprerly the wp-config.php, I did the /wp-admin/install.php
    and message was:

    "Success!
WordPress has been installed. Were you expecting more steps? Sorry to disappoint."
    with admin and pwd credentials

But when I go to the Login (at the "/"), the message is:

    "Fatal Error
If your blog does not display, please contact the owner of this site.

If you are the owner of this site please check that MySQL is running properly and all tables are error free.

    Database Tables Missing.
Database tables are missing. This means that MySQL is either not running, WPMU was not installed properly, or someone deleted wp_site. You really should look at your database now.
    etc etc

What was wrong?? I double checked the db, and all the tables have been created well. Also the mod_rewrite is installed and active.

    thanks

    Luciano

You installed MU into the same database as WP? Did you ensure that each is using a different prefix in wp-config.php? Sounds like they might be at the same prefix.

(caution: I know next to nothing about mu... if this is a "mu thing" then be sure to try their support forums as well)

Yes, even I was getting the same error. I was using wordpress single user in the same database and the same domain (in a sub domain). I removed that from my domain and my database and everything started working fine!!
