Heavy load on Database with each Page load.

    I’m using v2.0.23 and have over 1000 photos in a number of galleries. When I load the front page I see over 1000 database queries being made of the form…..

    SELECT image_slug FROM wp_ngg_pictures WHERE image_slug = 'sony-dsc-344' AND NOT pid = 0 LIMIT 1

    This has a significant effect (20 seconds) on loading the home page where I’m only using a few random thumbnails…. any way to optimism this?
