    Ok Im a BRAND newbie. my website is http://www.chocolate-candy-recipe.com. how do you take off the words
    "Chocolate-Candy-Recipe.com" on the top of the page? I want to replace the image behind it with something I made but those words are still in the way.

    Look in your header.php for lines similar to these:
    <h1 id="header">
    <a href="<?php bloginfo('url'); ?>"><?php bloginfo('name'); ?></a>
    </h1>

    And comment them out...

    I don't see it in there.
    if I do find it, do i just delete the <?php bloginfo('url'); ?>"> part?

    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">

    <head profile="http://gmpg.org/xfn/11">
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="<?php bloginfo('html_type'); ?>; charset=<?php bloginfo('charset'); ?>" />
    <title><?php bloginfo('name'); ?> <?php if ( is_single() ) { ?> &raquo; Blog Archive <?php } ?> <?php wp_title(); ?></title>

    <meta name="generator" content="WordPress <?php bloginfo('version'); ?>" /> <!-- leave this for stats -->
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="<?php bloginfo('stylesheet_url'); ?>" type="text/css" media="screen" />
    <link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="RSS 2.0" href="<?php bloginfo('rss2_url'); ?>" />
    <link rel="alternate" type="text/xml" title="RSS .92" href="<?php bloginfo('rss_url'); ?>" />
    <link rel="alternate" type="application/atom+xml" title="Atom 0.3" href="<?php bloginfo('atom_url'); ?>" />
    <link rel="pingback" href="<?php bloginfo('pingback_url'); ?>" />

    <?php wp_get_archives('type=monthly&format=link'); ?>
    <?php wp_head(); ?>

    <!--[if IE]>
    <style type="text/css">
    h1#comments, { padding-bottom: 30px; }
    h1#postcomment { padding-top: 20px; }
    #commentlist p, #commentform p { margin-top: -15px; margin-bottom: 30px; }
    .commentauth { clear: both; height: 30px; border-top: 1px solid #9B7B66; text-align: right; font-size: 10px; margin-top: -10px; padding: 5px 0px 10px 0px; }
    </style>
    <![endif]-->
    </head>

    <body>

    <div id="wrap">

    <!-- START HEADER -->
    <div id="head">
    <div id="title"><a>"><?php bloginfo('name'); ?></a></div>
    <div id="shadow"><?php bloginfo('name'); ?></div>
    <div id="desc"><?php bloginfo('description'); ?></div>
    </div>
    <!-- END HEADER -->

    I'd suggest trying:
    <div id="head">
    <div id="title"><a>"><?php bloginfo('name'); ?></a></div>
    <!--<div id="shadow"><?php bloginfo('name'); ?></div>
    <div id="desc"><?php bloginfo('description'); ?></div>-->
    </div>

    Note the <!-- and --> ... BTW, that 'should' be in your wp-content/themes/[themename]/header.php file.

    Thank you Yosemite (very cool place, we were there last month actually)

    I just deleted
    <div id="title">"><?php bloginfo('name'); ?></div>
    <!--<div id="shadow"><?php bloginfo('name'); ?></div>

    and it worked! Go look!

    <!-- START HEADER -->
    <div id="head">
    <div id="title">"><?php bloginfo('name'); ?></div>
    <div id="shadow"><?php bloginfo('name'); ?></div>
    <div id="desc"><?php bloginfo('description'); ?></div>
    </div>
    <!-- END HEADER -->

    This is what I'm having a problem with also. The theme they provide can we change the theme header from a certain theme that is avaiable.

    I guess what I am asking can I take the header from my personal site onto one of the theme that is provided?

    And if we can do this where do we go to change it?

    The only problem with the current solution is that you don't have a link back to the homepage. So I suggest you put back in that heading:

    <div id="head">
    <h1>
    <a href="<?php bloginfo('url'); ?>"><?php bloginfo('name'); ?></a>
    </h1>
    <p id="desc"><?php bloginfo('description'); ?>
    </div>

    Then put into your stylesheet:

    h1 a:link, h1 a:hover,
    h1 a:visited, h1 a:active {
    position: relative;
    display: block;
    height: 200px;
    width: 770px;
    text-decoration: none;
    border: none;
    background: transparent url(images/header.jpg) no-repeat top right;
    font: 20px/20px sans-serif;
    text-indent: -9999px;
    }
    p#desc {
    font: 1px/1px sans-serif;
    text-indent: -9999px;
    }
