[resolved] Header size issue (7 posts)

    Hi,

    I've recently put together this new website - http://tomscinema.com/ - and I have a slight issue with the header. I'm trying to decrease the size of it, to eradicate at least some of those big white gaps beneath and above the logo. Unfortunately, when I tweak the header size/padding in the CSS all I seem to be able to do is move the scroller up/down the page, and it doesn't seem to affect the header in the slightest. Any suggestions?

    I'm using the theme 'Migos'.

    Thanks in advance,
    Tom

    That website's coded weirdly.
    You can mess about with the '126px' size of the body's background image;

    body {
     background: #FFFFFF url(images/background.png) left 126px repeat-x;
    }

    Are you using a Child Theme or Custom CSS-type plugin?

    It's the integrated header functionality that comes with the Migos them, no plugin.

    I altered the above to 106px and it's definitely made a difference to the header, so thanks for that. Now, ideally if I could move the scroller back up to its position (moved since that bit of editing) I'd say the problem was just about solved. Any idea if that's possible?

    I don't know of its original position.

    By original position I mean the position it was at before I made that recent edition. Here's a pic - http://tomscinema.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/Screenshot.jpg

    Now that we've managed to reduce the white block below the header, I'm trying to reduce the grey block above the scroller (as indicated by the red scribble).

    Can you try this again;

    Unfortunately, when I tweak the header size/padding in the CSS all I seem to be able to do is move the scroller up/down the page, and it doesn't seem to affect the header in the slightest

    I've tried editing the size of the header again and that's more or less sorted it right out. Thanks very much, appreciated!
