I have Twenty Ten theme. I have had my website set up since about April this year. I loaded a custom header image and it has been fine. Not a single issue until today.

I have a few wordpress websites all running on Twenty Ten theme; I installed the same plugins and hotlink protection to them and they remain unaffected; no header image issues.

It is not loading at all, in fact even all the default header images are not loading now either. But images and videos in my posts are fine, ads are fine too.

The only new things I did in the last 2 days were:

enable a image hotlink protector from my host account
today, I installed sharethis plugin for wordpress

all I see where the header is supposed to be is a very small image icon or ? icon

I am a noobie and not sure what I need to do to trouble shoot the header image.
    Grateful for any tips.
    Thanks

enable a image hotlink protector from my host account

    Ding ding ding 🙂

For a test, turn it off and see if it works. If that corrects the issue, what kind of hotlink protection is it? .htaccess or what?

ding ding ding alright…. this noobie didn’t realize hotlink protection could interfere with the header images. Although, it diesn’t explain that 1 of my wp websites header is unaffected by same hotlink or sharethis plugin.

Does that throw new light on your thoughts?

I am awaiting a response from the host as to the type of hotlink protection. I haven’t a clue.

Will get back to you and thanks

Have resolved the issue with help of host support person. I needed to add more urls variations to the allow access hotlink protection list. Did that and all headers now loaded, all wp admin default headers now loading.

Didn’t need to disable hotlink protection after all.
    Thanks for input.
