I'm trying to change the header image from the default blue blob. I've created an image and named it kubrickheader.jpg (because changing the filename in header.php didn't work and another post suggested this). I've re-uploaded the original header.php and the new image, but I still see the blue blob. I haven't changed anything from the default locations -- don't know how. I've looked at http://codex.wordpress.org/Designing_Headers and tried to follow the directions (I find them overly confusing.)
    The site is at: http://ellenfinkelstein.com/cgi/wp/
    Header.php is at http://ellenfinkelstein.com/cgi/wp/wp-content/themes/ellens-knowledge-blog/header.php
When I try to load that in my browser, I get the following message:
"Fatal error: Call to undefined function: bloginfo() in /www/cgi/wp/wp-content/themes/ellens-knowledge-blog/header.php on line 5" I don't know what to do with that or what it means.
    The image is at http://ellenfinkelstein.com/cgi/wp/wp-content/themes/ellens-knowledge-blog/images/kubrickheader.jpg
    This loads fine.
I'm not aware of having created any folders manually. I didn't change anything in Options.
    Can you help?

You seem to have put the new header in a different theme folder. If you switch to the ellens knowledge blog theme, then you will see it. If you want to stay with the default theme but use your header, then you will need to upload the new header into the default theme folder.

in addition I found a remark in the source code to use the name personalheader.jpg . But this didn't work. Maybe there is some more to be changed. In the end I gave the name kubrickheader.jpg put the pic in the folder of the original kubrickheader.jpg after renaming this original "blue" into kubrickheader.old . And this works correct http://khonthai.de/wa-blog/
