   My header shows my URL twice. Does any body know how to change text in a WP header?

   Before you edit anything, check your Dashboard > Settings > General > Tagline, and make sure the "Tagline" is not the blog URI by mistake.

   Just a side note, but I think that version of the siteground theme may have been designed for wordpress 2.3

   Thanks. Some fixes are so easy. You just have to know where to look. It's a learning process .
