Having trouble with ads on site.

Okay so I’m becoming increasingly frustrated. I’ve started a blog recently, but I’m having difficulty with it. I got someone to set up all of the ad placements on the site, but when I updated to the new version of wordpress, all of the ad placements were lost. Also, there’s a huge gap on the “about” page.

I’ve tried doing everything they’ve said to do in order to place ads on the site, but it doesn’t work.

I’m not even really concerned about the ads themselves, I just don’t want blank empty spots on my pages where the ads are supposed to be.

Wondering if anyone could give this newby some advice.
