[resolved] Having trouble updating home page (6 posts)

I'm not 100% which version of WP I am currently running.

I haven't logged on to edit the home page of my website in a while.

From the dashboard, I am able to access the page, and reach the editing process. However, when I click update, I'm greeted with a 404 error. The forwarding URL is : http://cambridgewinterhawks.ca/wp-admin/post.php (after clicking update), from http://cambridgewinterhawks.ca/wp-admin/post.php?post=28&action=edit. The home pages URL is http://cambridgewinterhawks.ca/

I had a similar problem on another WP build, but it was an issue with FTP permissions. I have already double checked, and this does not seem to be the case.

I am unable to preview changes, or save as a draft.

I have not recently altered the permalinks, so I'm not sure what I might be encountering.

I've tried on IE and Chrome, and so far, nothing.

    Any suggestions?

Since this post, I've updated to 3.3.2, and am still having issues. I tried to build a new home page, and that did not work.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

When you click preview and are taken to the 404 page, try removing the www from the url.

If that fixes it, you need to look at the options for WordPress URL and Site URL in the settings page.

    Hope this helps,

    Phil

When it takes me to the 404, it still does not contain www in the url.

It seems to be a blanketing problem on the site for PAGES, as I've just loaded a couple of test POSTS, MEDIA and SLIDES to see if it affects anything else.

The last time I updated the homepage content was on April 2nd.

What I'm seeing from the URL is that it's trying to convert a PAGE to a POST...?

The problem magically resolved itself. Two days of non-editing capability on pages, and all of a sudden it works today.

    Weird.
