having trouble understanding what this plugin does

    right now my wordpress is being hosted by nearlyfreespeech. im uploading photographs and using a separate image gallery plugin to display my pictures but too expensive… so im looking into amazon e3.

    i already have hosting and a domain name. all i want is for my uploads to go directly to amazon e3. is this plugin for me?

    ive used other amazon e3 wordpress plugins but they dont seem to be working. i dont understand why there isnt that big of a support forum becuase some of these plugins have been downloaded ~1000 – 3000 times.

    Hi,

    we actively support wp2cloud plugin and will be happy to answer any of your questions.

    wp2cloud plugin will move all uploads to Amazon S3 as soon as you upload files. Media files will be served to the clients (web browsers) via S3 URLs, which will help scaling out the delivery of these files to the clients of your website.

    please note that wp2cloud plugin only deals with uploads. It relies on Cloud Storage Engine (ClouSE) for MySQL to enable integration with Amazon S3.

    If you’d like to store all the content of your website on Amazon S3, that is pages, metadata and uploads, this is definitely the possibility with ClouSE. In fact this web server configuration is more optimal management and reliability-wise. More here.

    does this means theres no need to use my current hosting?

    also, happens to my domain name?

    you still need a webserver to host the website, and the domain name for your clients to locate your website.

    To use Amazon S3 services in order to store your website content, you’ll need to open an account with Amazon.

    Cloud Storage Engine (ClouSE) for MySQL runs on your webserver to enable WordPress access the cloud storage.
    ClouSE Beta version is FREE.

    if the wordpress is on w3 using clouse/YAPIXX, what happens to plugins like ‘W3 Total Cache’?
