   I have had enough of messing around, trying to fix it and have decided to start again.
   I already have visitors from certain sites that use http://www.example.com/244 Can I keep this URL so that people are still visiting from these sites?

   I can't afford to lose these visitors.

   just 301 redirect old domain to new one.
