Having "Posted By X" Without X Having an Account (4 posts)

Hi, my name is Natasha and I'm the webmaster of a student online newspaper and I have a little problem. A certain number of editors have access to the online WordPress site and post content that is usually by another writer on staff. In HTML, they write who the article is by but since they are logged into WordPress with their own login information, when viewing the article, it will say, "By X Person", who isn't really the author of the article.

Is there any way to have this information be correct without making a WordPress account for all writors on staff?

without making a WordPress account for all writors on staff

What exactly do you mean by that?

A way to implement what you need to do AND at the same time making sure that the dynamic aspect of clicking on author name link opens up to page of author with all his posts (make sure you have template for author page):
    1. Create user per staff writer but put your email in each one.
    2. Each time you post for that staff writer, just go to dropdown in Write Post and choose the name of staff writer and save, As Admin/Editor in you can post for the writer and choose author name from dropdown.

Oops! I spelled "writers" wrong. That must've looked dumb.

Anyway, your solution is exactly my question; I was wondering if there was any other way to make sure that clicking on author's names would open a page with all posts by the same author WITHOUT making an account for each writer on the staff (since there are a lot!).

Would adding each user, all with one email and set as contributor take more than an hour or so? If so, you would need to create a script for that or ask someone to. Good luck.
