I have two WordPress installations on my webspace. The is located in the root of my webspace. The second one is located under a subfolder. I set up a domain forwarding to this subdirectory and set the "Blog URL" in this second wordpress installation so the URL bar in the browser shows another URL. The two wordpress installations use separate databases of the same database user.
So far the installation scenario. The problem I have is weird. The second installation "loses" the passwords of both users which are registered. To come around this problem I click on "Password forgotten?" and get a new one. Then I can login and change the password. After I changed it, I can logout, login again, logout, login again. But after a time - not more than a couple of hours - the password is lost and I have to repeat the mentioned process.
I can't imagine that there is a someone who has access to the database and changes the password for fun. There are no modifications on the content or somewhat that would indicate that someone else has access. But on the other side, I can't imagine that the handling of passwords has a flaw in wordpress. Has someone an idea what I could do?
Thanks in advance
