Hacking the Monochrome Pro theme

Hi – I’m looking to hack my Monochrome Pro themed website:-

I want to but an associated image above the text for the Blog and News category sections on the homepage. Monochrome uses Option Tree to control this element of the site – whilst fine this doesn’t give me the flexibility to edit the category properties. I’m not overly confident messing with the code – but if anyone can point me in the right direction then that would be great

When displaying a category page, I would like to alter the images to be larger than currently displayed. Again I’d be grateful if anyone can pint me in the right direction to amend the code.
