    Doesn’t it come down to using a secure password? If you’re using a secure password you don’t have to worry about brute force attempts. If the brute force attempts are straining your server then your hosting providers can do something about this.

    Enable 2 step verification that will make it almost impossible for hackers to get into (at least for now).

    I would speak with your webhost and ask if they can apply mod_security rules, or a firewall, on your account.
