Grouped Product vs Variable Product

    Hello everybody,

    I don’t want to ask a technical question but just a rational one. I am having a hard time trying to figure out why should I use the Grouped Product instead of Variable product. I cannot really see the difference.

    Can somebody give an example showing the clear differencies / advantages of using Grouped Products against the Variable product because I think I am missing something if I am just using the Variable products.

    Variable products eg: A computer hard drive available in 50GB, 100GB or 500GB

    A grouped product eg: A computer hard drive set that includes three simple products, the 100GB hard drive, a rugged case and an extra long USB cable.

    Unless I am mistaken.

    The definition of a grouped product at the top of this page on the WooCommerce documentation is actually very misleading – http://docs.woothemes.com/document/managing-products/
