    Hello again,
When setting Top Level Groups to Nobody, only me the Admin can create groups. I have two top level groups and I only want members to create sub-groups under one of those top level groups. But the create button does not show and if I put the URL /create/step/group-details/ members get the error: “Sorry, you are not allowed to create groups.”

So, I need a work around for Top Level Groups set to Nobody but non admins can create groups.

    Thanks in advance!!

    Hi Jeffrey –

What are the subgroup permissions for your existing groups? Are the affected users members of your existing groups?

The Create Group button should only be hidden when the current user has nowhere to place a group. It sounds like the affected users don’t have permission to create subgroups either.

    Hi David,
I see now. The member has to join the parent group before creating their own group. Duh…..

And that’s exactly how we need it to work since I don’t want them to create top level groups.

Let’s just blame it on a brain fart.

    Thanks.

Haha glad to hear that’s all it was. Happy holidays!
