    Hello,

Basically, my site gnicolaou.com is multilingual, with:

    gnicolaou.com for english
    gnicolaou.com.cy for greek

The Greek URLs in the sitemap do not display correctly and include character like these –> %81%ce%b1%ce%bd%ce%af%cf%84%ce%b5%cf%82

The problem is that redirect commands in .htaccess do not work.

    Any possible solutions?

    Thanks

I am talking on how URLs display in the site map.

Sorry. I missed ‘sitemap’. Are the characters correctly displayed when Polylang is de-activated?

The problem persists when Polylang is deactivated.

What do you think could be the problem?

    Hello,

With help from my host I found that Polylang is actually causing problems.

The problem was not in the sitemaps. When I disable Polylang the sitemaps characters dont change to normal ones but my original problem, 301 redirects not working, was solved.

So Polylang is somehow blocking 301 redirects. What could be the problem?

Please note that only redirects that are related with the greek language dont work.

    Thanks

    What are these redirections?

I tried to re-apply the redirection code again and looks like it works.

    I am not sure why.

Thank you for your help anyway.
