   There is an outstanding review that looks at WordPress versus Drupal and Joomla then rating WordPress highest for 5 reasons. But the article is full of links and resources for finding out more about WordPress and other blogs. Also it discusses some of the drawbacks of WordPress vis a vis HTML5 and Web 2.0 developments.
