Short of browsing blogs with the active plugin to hunt for inspiration for nice “blank head” or random gravatars to use with my blog, does anyone know if some kind of free image gallery for gravatars exists?

I just assumed something like that existed somewhere when I installed the (excellent) Gravatar2 plugin for WordPress on my blog.

However, having searched online, looked through the user support comments on the author’s site, and browsed these online forums for mention of this type of resource… I’m at a loss.

DOES something like this exist, similar to the free smilies websites that are out there?

And if it doesn’t, do you think there is a need for this type of resource?

Where does everyone else get their avatars from for their visitors (obviously, most blog owners have their self-made ones, as do I)?

  • a free gravitar website? I don’t see a compelling need, since a gravitar is just a square picture, and there’s no shortage of pictures on the internet.

Sorry, not a very helpful answer.

Just go through forum avatar sets, I’m sure you’ll find tons

Ah, I didn’t know they were published in sets, I’ve found loads online now – thanks basketball!

jwbjerk – I sort of meant more general ones, like the blank heads and stuff? Still, I’ve found some now so no matter.

    Thanks! 🙂
