Hi, I've done some looking around and I can't find any plugins or tutorials about using Gravatars to send user information in a contact form, instead of always relying on the visitor to input their name, email address and website url every time. I figured anything that makes a website more accessible like that has got to be worthwhile and I don't see why it hasn't been done already as all it does is store and display user information for comment forms at the moment, why not use it for contact forms too?

I don't think you're going to find any plugins or tutorials as this would contravene gravatar.com's privacy policy: http://automattic.com/privacy/

Well with comments, the author's name or username and website URL (if entered) are displayed publicly, whereas with their email address I can understand why Gravatar should keep that private, even from the moderator.

But if that's the case then why is it that the moderator can see and even edit the author's email address and other details? A contact form I'm proposing would send only the same information as well as, maybe, a subject line. So the only real difference would be that information would only be shared be the website visitor and administrator(s) which obviously makes it more secure.
