    Hi all,
    Someone please tell me:

Does this plugin generate a sitemap.xml for the entire website or just for the WordPress Blog (i.e., ignoring rest of the website)?

    Thanks in advance.

  • you can include pages other than wordpress as an option – or just confine it to wordpress

Thanks samboll. I appreciate your help.

I really want to use this plugin, but I am not clear about many things about it.

For example, the setting section of this plugin states:

Note: If your blog is in a subdirectory and you want to add pages which are NOT in the blog directory or beneath, you MUST place your sitemap file in the root directory (Look at the “Location of your sitemap file” section on this page)!

Specifically, where it states “you MUST place your sitemap file in the root directory”.

Root directory of my domain or the WP blog.

My blog is in subdirectory (e.g. http://www.mysite.com/blog/).

In this scenario, should I place sitemap.xml generated by the plugin in my domain’s root (e.g. http://www.mysite.com/sitemap.xml)?

Also how and where I would add my http://www.mysite.com/ so it’s all pages can be included in the same sitemap generated by the plugin?

    Thanks again Sam. tara

if you want other than wordpress pages included, drop it in the root
    http://www.mysite.com/sitemap.xml)

in the site map options you include other than wordpress pages

Thanks samboll for your guidance on this matter.

I do have a sitemap.xml file for my entire website (it only include the URL of the blog page, no other details as the WP XML plugin generate)in the root of my domain.

    1. Is that sufficient to have url of the blog page or its really good have sitemap of the blog page as generated by the WP xml plugin?

    2. Or is it advisable to leave the sitemap I have for my domain in the root of my domain, and have second sitemap in the Blog root directory generated by the WP XML plugin?

    3. Which way is more efficient from traffic bandwidth standpoint and so on?

    please guide. Thanks again. tara
