Google Sitemap Plugin gives blank page when posts are included (9 posts)

The Google Sitemap Plugin churns for several seconds and then delivers a blank page, but only when WordPress Posts are included in the sitemap. I've turned on error reporting in the plugin, removed the @ from the fopen() calls... nothing... just a blank page. Any clue?

    Same here :(

I tried WordPress 2.0.1 with Sitemap 2.7.1 as well as 3.0b1

    Hi,

I'm sorry that I can't reproduce this bug on any of my web servers. Another problem is that a blank page isn't very helpful for debugging, so I can just guess what it could be.

I will post here if I've found a solution.

How many posts do you have?

Eco - I don't think the dagon plugin does >Google Sitemaps<, which are a very particular thing for Google's web crawler...

If you have a DB with a large number of posts you will get a blank screen when producing the sitemap.

The problem can be solved by putting a ini_set("memory_limit","16M"); statement at the beginning of the BuildSitemap() function.

This will provide more memory when creating your sitemap and it should then work. If you are still having problems try using a larger number like "32M"

You can also try to apply this change to improve speed/memory.

    Same prob here.
    I've to give 128M to PHP to create a (3,9MB) sitemap.xml and (0,45MB) sitemap.xml.gz and I honestly think 128M is too much.
It takes a couple of minutes on a double Xeon 3Ghz, and httpd reaches quite 120MB of memory.
I've got, as I stated on trac, 18K posts (since 2002) and 4,5K comments.
I'm using a WP2.0 with some modified (mostly 2.0.1&2 backports) parts and I've tried both Sitemap 2.7.1 and 3.0b1

    Thank you for your help,
    Paolo
