Google Sitemap crawl failed

    I’ve installed the Google Sitemap plugin, registered my site at Google Sitemap, had it verified and crawled. But I see the following information listed in my Sitemap (google) acct.:

    Sitemap error/unsupported file format/Your Sitemap does not appear to be in a supported format.

    Would anyone have any idea what might be wrong? On the off chance that I was running an old version of the plugin I just installed the new beta. I guess I won’t know if th problem arose fr. an old plugin till my site gets crawled again. If anyone has any other suggestions pls. let me know.

    I don’t know if this has anything to do with anything but I notice that my main pg. & category pgs. have a google rank but my individual post pages say “N/A.” COuld this be a sign of the same problem or unrelated?

    This bug is fixed in the new beta. Please download it again.

    Arnee: Thanks for the word. You’ll remember we corresponded personally about my own problem. I thought the issue might’ve had something to do w. the plugin. Glad you’ve detected whaever it was & fixed it.

    I’ve upgraded & rebuilt my site. Will it take some time before Google Sitemaps will register the change & correct the error?

    And I wonder whether the other problem I’m currently having with Google’s crawl in which their bot is misrendering my permalinks by omitting the day of the month in my permalink structure will also be fixed by this. Hope so. This issue is giving me grief, no one’s getting to my pgs. who comes via a Google search, & I can’t figure out what’s causing it (& I never had it before now). Here’s hoping…

    Arnee, would this be the same reason my robots.txt file happens to be displaying a 404 page?

    I installed the new and old version and the same thing always happens – the xml sitemap generated is just my home page.

    Any suggestions?
