My blog on 1and1 with 500ish existing posts was moved by 1and1 to 3.5.1. They did not make all the settings the same and I was (for other personal reasons) not able to look at the result for about 5 weeks. During that time it had no spam protection. I now have Aksimet installed and have removed the spam. There was no rss feed and that has been installed. Now I find that I get no referrals from google searches. My problems are:
    1. how do I get google to send people my way?
    2. how do I find out if some of the spam put malware in my blog? if so how do I get rid of it?
    3. are there other things I should be looking at from the 1and1 upgrade?
    Any help or advice welcome!!!

    1. Register with http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/ and register your site.

    2. Try scanning your site by going to http://sucuri.net/ enter your domain there. There are also some plugins you might want to try out from WordPress.org plugin repository, by searching "scanner"

    3. Only if you have strange symptoms.
